kNIFVES 1-1/2 Day Commercial Production Workshop

Local Filmmakers Discuss the SpIFF 2011 Bumpers

In the weeks before Spokane International Film Festival 2011, Spokanites Juan Mas, Jeremy Lokken and Adam Boyd whipped up some fun and clever short spots to promote the festival. The SpIFF 2011 bumpers feature puppets dealing with mayhew and Spokane as the backdrop for a video game (you can view them to the right and below).

For the final episode of the festival’s Filmmakers Forum, Eastern Washington University’s Professor of Screenwriting, Film Industry Law, Theory and Criticism, Marvin Smith sat down with these three to talk about the creative process they went through to develop the bumpers and the special challenges they faced in the production of these extremely short pieces.  Lastly, the filmmakers talk about the opportunities that are available in the Inland Northwest for learning more about getting out and making your own film.
