SpIFF Filmmaker Forum – Documentarian Episode Available Now!

Documentary FilmmakersOur four-part podcast of the 2011 Spokane International Filmmaker Forum kicks off with SpIFF Director and Eastern Washington University Professor of Film Dr. Pete Porter interviewing three extremely talented documentary filmmakers: Amanda Pope (The Desert of Forbidden Art), Michael W. King (The Rescuers), and J.P. Snaidecki (Foreign Parts, Chai-qian (Demolition)).

Exploring the diverse backgrounds of the panelists suggests that a filmmaker is not born, but created through the process of bringing light to a story that needs to be told.

During this forum episode, Amanda, Michael, and J.P. discuss varying topics–from how they began their journeys into documentary filmmaking to how documentarians live and work, including how they find funding and information on budgeting projects.
