As silents as it came, it went: the Winter 2010-2011 48 Hour Film Festival took place last weekend. Filmmaking teams were released onto the streets of Spokane at 7:30pm on Friday December 3rd, and 22 returned 48 hours later to turn in their films.
Looking at the Youtube Channel run by the Spokane 48 Hour Film Festival organizers, you can see the short entires are quite
entertaining. These groups had to meet five parameters in their films–decided upon just minutes before the teams were let loose:
Overall Theme: The Number 10
A Prop That Must Be Used: A Playing Card (but not to be used in a game such as Poker or Go Fish.)
A Location: A Stairwell
Line of Dialogue: “Maybe if you knew what it was like to deal with this, you’d think differently!”
Bonus Parameter: One Purposefully Out of Focus Shot.
Check out the films and tell us what you think. Which is your favorite? What do you like or don’t you like about these films, and the festival all together?
Remember, you can some see these films at First Night Spokane on December 31st, 2010. A panel of judges will whittle down the 22 to a handful of shows to present. Those presented will vie for audience votes for the coveted People’s Choice award!

So who won?
Thanks for showing interest Shane, there will be a post later this morning with the winners.
